Overview

The 2025 season of the Grüner Markt in Gingst ran as usual from late May to early October 2025, every Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Museumshof Gingst. Over more than 20 market days, visitors could purchase smoked fish from Ummanz, homemade jams, fresh bread from the wood-fired oven, and regional crafts and knitwear.

Review of Grüner Markt 2025

In the 2025 season too, the Grüner Markt in Gingst attracted numerous regular customers and new guests. The smoked fish vendors from Ummanz, the knitting ladies from the community, and the bakers from the wood-fired oven were among the permanent fixtures. On particularly beautiful summer days, the queue for the bread oven extended onto Karl-Marx-Straße.

In the museum café, homemade cakes were served all day long, which could be enjoyed at handmade wooden tables under old trees. The familiar atmosphere, where "everyone knows everyone," has characterized this market for years — and remained unchanged in 2025.
