Overview

The Grötzinger Kerwefest 2025 took place in September in the Sandäcker allotment garden complex and confirmed the family-friendly association festival format of OWGV Grötzingen. Again, catering by the members, wine and cider from its own production, live music, and the relaxed character of an allotment garden association festival — a quiet alternative to the big Karlsruhe neighbourhood festivals.

2025 — Neighbourhood Atmosphere

The 2025 Kerwe once again attracted loyal regulars from Grötzingen and the neighbouring districts of Berghausen, Hagsfeld, and Stupferich. Compared to the major Karlsruhe neighbourhood festivals (Durlacher Altstadtfest, Mühlburger Fest), the Grötzinger Kerwefest is small, intimate, and association-based — therein lies its charm.

The OWGV not only maintains the festival itself but also cultivates the allotment garden complex year-round and offers pruning courses, varietal knowledge, and distillation days. The Kerwe is, in a sense, the window to the outside world, where the association invites the general public once a year to experience club life.
