Overview
The 2025 Grottenadvent transformed the Saalfeld Fairy Caves into a pre-Christmas fairy-tale world on the second Advent weekend. Choirs and instrumental groups performed in the three show caves, and the small Christmas market in the park attracted visitors with regional handicrafts and Advent specialities. The combination of underground concerts and an above-ground market once again proved its appeal to visitors from all over Thuringia and beyond.
Grottenadvent 2025
The 2025 edition continued the tradition: several choir sessions in the three show caves, a Christmas market with stalls in the park, mulled wine, and Thuringian specialities. The Fairy Caves, a Guinness World Heritage site, once again attracted visitors from the surrounding districts and from Saxony, Bavaria, and Saxony-Anhalt. The combination of concerts with unique acoustics and Advent market atmosphere remains its hallmark.
