Overview

In 2025, Zwiesel again celebrated its 9-day Grenzlandfest in July. Parade, festival tent program, Youth Day, City Day, Children's and Family Day, Oldtimer Grenzland Meeting, and fireworks display to conclude. With over 140 years of festival tradition, the Grenzlandfest remains the most important Volksfest in the Bavarian Forest and a social highlight of the glass city.

The 2025 edition continued the festival tradition dating back to 1880. The festival tent saw full houses with party music, the amusement park ran non-stop for nine days, and the Oldtimer Grenzland Meeting gathered historic vehicles from the Bavarian Forest and Upper Palatinate. The Brewery Wagon Skill Driving competition brought Dampfbierbrauerei Zwiesel and other breweries into sporting contention. The fireworks display on the last Sunday of the festival provided a fitting conclusion to the festival week and, as every year, was watched by the entire town from the town square and the surrounding hills.
