Overview

The last edition of the International German Gold Panning Championship before the 36th edition in 2026 took place in 2024 on the Goldberg in Goldkronach. The competition is held every two years — the 36th edition in 2026 follows the 35th in 2024. International participants from several countries, awards for women, men, juniors, and seniors characterized the weekend.

The Goldkronach Gold Panning Championship is traditionally held biannually. The 35th edition took place in late June 2024, as usual, in the typical Goldkronach setting on the Goldberg with the Infohaus as the competition center.

Participants from Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Scandinavia, and other countries took on the disciplines; the supporting program included demonstration panning, guided hikes, and a communal evening program. The high level of international participation underscores Goldkronach's status as one of the most important venues for European gold panning sport.
