Overview

The premiere of the Goldmund Festival took place in the summer of 2025 on the last weekend of June at Kloster Irsee. Founded by the Goldmund Quartet as a new platform for chamber music, the festival presented string quartets, song recitals, and crossover programs in the baroque halls of the monastery – a format that already found enough resonance in its premiere to be continued by the district of Swabia for 2026.

Premiere 2025

The Goldmund Festival began in Kloster Irsee with the 2025 season. The Goldmund Quartet, together with the district of Swabia and the Swabian Conference and Education Centre Kloster Irsee, curated a festival weekend featuring string quartets and solo concerts, set against the historical backdrop of the monastery complex.

The positive response to the premiere led to the early continuation of the festival: the district of Swabia confirmed its continuation in spring 2026 – the festival has thus found its place in the Southern German chamber music calendar.
