The 33rd edition of the German Children's Media Festival Golden Sparrow in June 2025 once again attracted leading filmmakers, broadcasters, and educators from the German-speaking children's media industry to Gera and Erfurt. With films, workshops, Talent Lab, and Industry Forum, the event solidified its status as the most important German children's media festival.

2025 Review

The 33rd edition featured numerous premieres in the categories of Cinema, TV Series, Short Film, and Animation. The Children's Jury, comprising over 30 children from all over Germany, evaluated the nominated entries — this process has been a hallmark of the Golden Sparrow for decades. Workshops and the Industry Forum brought together producers and broadcasters (MDR, ZDF, RTL Media Group) for commission talks and networking.
