Overview
The special exhibition "Glowing Heritage" opened in August 2025 at the Lauchhammer Foundry Museum. It honors 300 years of industrial culture in Lauchhammer — starting with the founding of the ironworks in 1725 by Benedicta Margaretha Freifrau von Löwendal. Curated by Antje Bräuer. The exhibition runs for several seasons until October 2026.
The opening of the special exhibition in August 2025 marked the start of a multi-month program celebrating the 300th anniversary of Lauchhammer's industrial culture. In the initial months, the exhibition attracted a large number of visitors — both from Lauchhammer residents and tourists from the Lusatian Lake District.
Curator Antje Bräuer has created a narratively dense staging that connects the technical heritage of the ironworks with the biographical component — the founder Benedicta Margaretha.
