Overview

The 18th edition of globale° brought international authors to Bremen again at the end of October 2025. For a week, readings, multilingual discussions, and Kulturcampus formats shaped the image of Theater Bremen and many other venues throughout the Hanseatic city.

In 2025, globale° traditionally began in Bremen City Hall with a festive opening, before the festival spread across Theater Bremen, the University, and numerous city district venues. The focus was again on authors whose work transcends linguistic and national borders – complemented by discussion evenings, concerts, and the Kulturcampus format, which included young voices from the academic environment.

The seven-day programme once again confirmed globale°'s firm place in the German festival calendar and Bremen's self-image as a UNESCO City of Literature.
