Overview

In the summer of 2025, the 33rd Guitar Festival Iserlohn once again gathered international soloists, ensembles, and students at the Iserlohn Music School and the Oberste Stadtkirche. Ten evening concerts, 450 hours of masterclasses, and the International Competition were the focus of a compact seven-day program.

The 33rd edition confirmed the festival's high status as an international meeting point for classical guitar artistry. The mix of competition, teaching, and concerts has proven to be influential for the guitar scene in the German-speaking world for over three decades — and positions Iserlohn as a music festival stronghold in the Sauerland region, alongside its Piano Festival.

In 2025, public guitar maker comparison tests and the traditional raffle of Martinez concert guitars were also held. The evening festival concerts at the Oberste Stadtkirche were largely sold out.
