Gillamoos Abensberg

In 2025, the Gillamoos in Abensberg once again attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors. Over five days, beer tents, the funfair, the grand procession of traditional costume dancers, and traditional competitions such as wood sawing and the Dirndl Queen election shaped the festival. The "Politischer Gillamoos" on Monday was once again the media highlight: top politicians from all major parties spoke to packed festival tents. The Gillamoos confirmed its reputation as Bavaria's oldest Volksfest and a fixed date in the Bavarian political and customs calendar.
