Edition 2025 — Musikalischer Sommer

The 49th season of the Musikalischer Sommer ran in summer 2025 with over 30 concerts in the Schiffenberg monastery courtyard and on the StadtRaumBühne. As since 1976, exclusively local bands and ensembles from Gießen and the district performed – free of charge, curated by the cultural office of the City of Gießen.

In 2025, the concert series continued according to the proven concept: over 30 local acts, two venues, free admission, promotion of bands from Gießen and the surrounding area. The 2025 edition also served as a prelude to the 50th anniversary in 2026.

Programme

Over 30 concerts between June and early August. Mixed program of Rock, Pop, Blues, Jazz, Hip-Hop, World Music, Choirs, and Big Bands. Main venues: Schiffenberg monastery courtyard on Sunday evenings, StadtRaumBühne in the city center several times a week.
