The Gertrudiskirmes 2025 opened the Bochum fair season as usual around March 17 (Gertrudis Day). Nine days of large fair at Gertrudisplatz with 22+ rides, opening day with free rides, and Family Day on Wednesday. The City of Bochum and showmen continued the concept.

March 2025 once again marked the opening of the Bochum fair season. The Gertrudiskirmes, with its classic format — 9 days, major rides, Family Day, opening ritual with free rides — proved to be a reliable spring kickoff. Thousands of visitors from Wattenscheid, Bochum, and the eastern Ruhr area came to the event over the week.
