Overview

The 597th edition of the Geislingen Children's Festival took place on Monday, July 28, 2025 — Geislingen's "National Holiday" in uninterrupted tradition since 1428. Classic day program with festive procession from approx. 8:40 AM through the inner city, followed by the Children's Park at the TVA festival grounds with game stations, carousels, and refreshments from schools and clubs. The crowning finale: the famous Stäffelespredigt from the staircase. One of Germany's oldest children's festivals.

The 597th edition in 2025 followed the established tradition with great participation from Geislingen's schools and clubs. The festive procession started punctually at 8:40 AM from the historic town center and wound through the inner city with hundreds of participants — school classes from all Geislingen schools in fitting costumes, sports, music, heritage, and carnival clubs, music bands and drum corps, floats, and riders. Thousands of spectators lined the streets, families with their children at the edges. Afterwards, the festival moved to the TVA festival grounds with a Children's Park, game stations by the clubs, carousels, and snack stands. The traditional conclusion was the humorous Stäffelespredigt from the staircase in Swabian dialect — with the usual Swabian punchlines and anecdotes from Geislingen's town and club life. Pure tradition, unbroken since the 15th century.
