Overview

The Gefreeser Wiesenfest 2025 took place on the second weekend of July, continuing the unbroken tradition since 1656. Five days of festivities with a grand fireworks display on Friday, a festival parade on Sunday with school youth, clubs, and friendly Wiesenfest associations, dancing on the main street, and the elementary school's children's program on Whit Monday. The Historical Forum Gefrees once again presented its club banner in the parade.

The 2025 edition of the Gefreeser Wiesenfest continued the centuries-old tradition. Reports from local media — from Frankenpost and Nordbayerischer Kurier — spoke of "amazing atmosphere in Gefrees" and a festival meadow that was well-attended on all five days.

For the local associations, the 2025 festival also provided an occasion to highlight its historical depth: the Historical Forum Gefrees e.V. presented its club banner during the festival parade and announced a commemorative publication for the 2026 jubilee year, marking the first documented mention in 1656.
