In January 2025, Gayhane celebrated its 27th anniversary at SO36 Kreuzberg — a regular monthly edition with a special birthday atmosphere. The resident DJ team around Ipek played Turkish, Arabic, Greek, and Hebrew pop music on the dancefloor, as they do every last Saturday of the month.
The monthly Gayhane editions at SO36 take place on the last Saturday of each month; the January 2025 edition marked a special milestone with the format's 27th birthday, leading up to the grand 28th anniversary in 2026. In 2025, DJ Ipek (founder) and the resident team continued to shape the night with the unmistakable queer-oriental mix.
SO36 in Kreuzberg remained the undisputed stage, with the Halay circle dance as a central musical element. For almost three decades now, Gayhane has been Berlin's meeting point for the queer-migrant community — a pioneering format that has been exported to other European cities multiple times.
