Overview

In 2025, the Gauklerspiel also took place on the weekend of German Unity Day at the Zitadelle Spandau. Two days of juggling, fire art, acrobatics, and market activities, from 10 am to 7 pm both days. Organizer Carnica Spectaculi, as always, brought troupes from across Germany, with admission remaining moderate at €13 for adults.

The 2025 edition stuck to the proven format: two full days of performances, a historically costumed market within the fortress, with a focus on family audiences. Due to weather, Saturday was slightly more crowded, while Sunday was rainy—market vendors offered plastic coverings and dry spots under their pavilions.

Highlights included the evening fire shows, the hands-on activities for children (stick bread, archery for the youngest under supervision), and the walk-acts by stilt walkers and swordsmen. Carnica Spectaculi is a regular fixture at the Zitadelle—the organization also manages the medieval Christmas market there in November.
