Overview

The 2025 edition took place on December 14th — as always on the 3rd Sunday of Advent. Around 40 exhibitors, live music with the Imchen-Kombo, a small children's program, and the traditional distribution of the Peace Light from Bethlehem at the end of the market. The quiet Advent market in Spandau-Gatow attracted families from the district and lovers of curated Advent markets from all over Berlin.

The 2025 edition was a typical Gatow Advent Sunday: cold but sunny, no snow, but with mulled wine and gingerbread from the parish bakery. The exhibitors were mostly regular participants — craftspeople from Berlin and Brandenburg who have been present at the market for years. The Imchen-Kombo played their usual two sets, with the parish choir singing traditional Advent songs in between.

The Peace Light was brought, as always, by a local scout group — an element that has set the market apart from purely commercial formats for years. Those who attended took their candles home; a tradition firmly established in Spandau since the mid-2010s.
