Open-Air Summer at the CD-Kaserne

The CD-Kaserne is one of the most important socio-cultural centres in Lower Saxony and has been a defining venue in the Celle music and cultural scene for years. With FreiKultur Sommer, the centre hosts open-air concerts and open-air cinema in its courtyard every year – a growing format that is accessible to all and funded by donations.

Concept: Concert + Film

Each evening, the format combines a live concert with a subsequent feature film under the open sky. FreiKultur Sommer thus combines two experiences into one shared evening – ideal for families, couples, and groups who enjoy live music and summer cinema.

Eight Dates in 2026

The 2026 season comprises eight dates between mid-June and the end of August:

• June 13 – John Garner + "Rocky Horror Picture Show"
• June 20 – 2ersitz + "Pirates of the Caribbean"
• June 26 – Les Bummms Boys + "Goldfinger"
• August 7 – Kroner + "Dirty Dancing"
• August 15 – David Lübke + "Casablanca"
• August 22 – Gereon + "Indiana Jones"
• August 29 – LILOU + "Burlesque"
• An additional date will be added to the programme according to CD-Kaserne

Donation Basis and Sponsorship

Admission is on a donation basis – everyone can attend without needing to purchase a ticket in advance. A voluntary donation at the entrance or during the evening contributes to the financing of future programmes. The series is supported by Sparkasse Celle-Gifhorn-Wolfsburg.
