Overview

The Freihunger Kirwa 2025 took place from November 7 to 10 in the Freihung community center, organized by Freihunger Kirwaleit e.V. The traditional Upper Palatinate Kirchweih offered the usual customs with Kirwabaum, Kirwapaare, Baumaustanzen, and Kirwamusik. In the Seugast district, the associated Kirwa took place on its own date in mid-October.

The 2025 edition continued the Kirwa tradition of the market community of Freihung. As in previous years, the setting up of the Kirwabaum, the Baumaustanzen by the Kirwapaare, and the convivial inn atmosphere characterized the festival. The opening was on Friday evening, with Sunday being the traditional climax featuring the fetching of the Kirwapaare.

As an annual association festival of Freihunger Kirwaleit e.V., the Freihunger Kirwa confirmed its firm place in the festival calendar of the Amberg-Sulzbach district and the northern Upper Palatinate.
