Overview
A Special Anniversary
The 75th edition of the Fränkisches Weinfest in 2025 was dedicated to its milestone anniversary. The motto "Kult, Kultur & Weingenuss – damals wie heute" referred to its founding in 1949, when the festival began as a small post-war initiative by Volkach's winemakers and developed into Bavaria's most important wine festival.
Program Highlights 2025
The festival opened on Friday, August 15th. Die Partyräuber played on the opening night, followed by Die Frankenbengel on Saturday, The Jets on Sunday, and Die Bayernmafia on Monday. The daily musical backdrop was provided by the Stadtkapelle Volkach, the Symphonisches Blasorchester, the youth brass orchestra of the music school, and the Fränkischen Freunde.
Anniversary Parade
Sunday afternoon was dedicated to the grand anniversary parade through the old town: Sommeracher Straße, Oberer Markt, Hauptstraße, and Josef-Wächter-Straße transformed into a stage for Franconian Wine Queens, traditional costume groups, floats, and music bands. The festival concluded on Tuesday with a beat evening featuring Lost in Tunes, with free admission.
Summary
Seven wineries and four winegrower cooperatives served over 120 Franconian wines. Day ticket prices were €3, and season tickets were €6 in advance / €7 at the box office. The anniversary edition is considered one of the most successful festival years in recent history for Volkach.
