Overview

The 8th edition of FRACTO, as usual, took over ACUD KINO in Berlin Mitte with a multi-day program of experimental film, found footage, Expanded Cinema, and artist focus programs. The festival maintained its proven concept of 5 thematic sections, workshops, and a concluding performance.

FRACTO 2025 was the eighth edition of the festival and once again used ACUD KINO as its main venue. As in previous years, the program was structured into 5 thematic sections, three artist focus programs, workshops, and an Expanded Cinema presentation to conclude the festival.

The festival further built its reputation in the international experimental film scene — FRACTO is now a fixture in Berlin alongside Forum Expanded (Berlinale), interfilm, and a few other venues that program avant-garde film with such depth. Preparations for the 2026 anniversary edition (9th edition with Cécile Fontaine, Peter Todd, Moucle Blackout) were underway in 2025.
