Overview

The previous year's edition further established the festival as a fixture in the North Rhine-Westphalia early music scene. Ludus Instrumentalis remained the ensemble in residence, while guest ensembles from Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany presented the program between the Aachen Cathedral surroundings and the region.

In 2025, the festival followed its established format: an opening concert by the resident ensemble, diverse chamber and ensemble programs over three weeks, an educational format for schools, and a closing concert. The program again focused on the diversity of early music from the Middle Ages to the late Baroque.

Artistic directors Lorenzo Alpert and Judith Konter placed a stronger emphasis on Renaissance polyphony in 2025. As usual, the attractive Festival Pass concept was maintained, intended to appeal equally to regular attendees and newcomers.
