Overview
The 12th Fontane-Festspiele in 2025 took place traditionally on the Pentecost weekend. Four days of literature, readings, concerts, and city walks in Neuruppin — the proven format featuring the Altes Gymnasium, Kulturkirche, Schulplatz, and Kirchplatz. Top guests from contemporary German literature met a literature-loving audience from Berlin and all of Brandenburg in Fontane-Land.
12th Edition 2025
The Fontane-Festspiele 2025 continued the successful formula: Pentecost weekend, four days of programming, readings by outstanding contemporary authors alternating with concerts, city walks, and curious formats. The city of Neuruppin and the Fontane-Festspiele association expanded the festival again in 2025 and simultaneously prepared the 13th program for 2026. In its first twelve years, the festival has established itself as one of Brandenburg's most important literary festivals.
