Overview
In 2025, the folkBALTICA Festival also began with a festive opening concert at Messe Husum & Congress. The folkBALTICA Ensemble, guest musicians from the Baltic Sea region, and the local choir of the Theodor-Storm-Schule provided an atmospheric start.
The 2025 opening concert continued the folkBALTICA tradition of opening the annual festival with a festive kickoff event in Nordfriesland. As in previous years, Husum, with Messe Husum & Congress, was the host.
In 2025, the folkBALTICA Festival celebrated its 20th anniversary and is now one of Germany's most important folk festivals. The 2025 edition further contributed to the visibility of Baltic Sea region folk traditions in Schleswig-Holstein and Sønderjylland.
