Overview

The Airfield Festival at the Berlin-Gatow Military History Museum took place in September 2025. As every year, the event attracted thousands of visitors with historic aircraft, a model building exhibition in Hangar 5, a field kitchen, and over 80 exhibitors from the military history sector. Also, the Reservist Day of the Bundeswehr.

The 2025 edition took place on a September weekend at the former RAF Gatow airfield in Berlin's Spandau district. The Bundeswehr, the Reservist Association, and the Military History Museum offered a broad program: flight demonstrations with historic aircraft, a large IPMS model building exhibition in Hangar 5, a Bundeswehr field kitchen serving pea soup, and a children's program.

With free admission, the festival has attracted a diverse audience for years: families from Berlin and Brandenburg, aviation enthusiasts, reservists, collectors, and model builders. The unique location on the historic airfield with 155 exhibited aircraft makes the event one of Berlin's most unusual Volksfeste (popular festivals).
