The premiere of the Flensburger Sommer took place in 2025 as a twelve-week series from mid-June to the end of August — with four program pillars (SommerHygge, Förde Vibes, StadtSpieleSpaß, Aktiv am Wasser) and free admission. Organizers: Stadtwerke Flensburg, TAFF, Flensburg.City. The premiere was positively received by the local press and is considered the basis for the continuation in 2026.
The 2025 premiere brought the concept of a twelve-week summer city festival to life for the first time. SommerHygge at the Nordermarkt opened the series with the typical Flensburg Danish connection; Förde Vibes, StadtSpieleSpaß, and Aktiv am Wasser shared the following weeks.
The assessment of the premiere — consistently well-attended Förde Vibes concerts, lively city center on Saturdays, well-frequented sports activities by the water — confirmed to the organizers that the concept would be continued in its second edition in 2026. The lifestyle press and Förde Fräulein described the Flensburger Sommer as "12 weeks of joie de vivre, music, and participatory moments.".
