The premiere of the Flensburger Sommer took place in 2025 as a twelve-week series from mid-June to the end of August — with four program pillars (SommerHygge, Förde Vibes, StadtSpieleSpaß, Aktiv am Wasser) and free admission. The assessment of the premiere — consistently well-attended Förde Vibes concerts, lively city center on Saturdays, well-frequented sports activities by the water — confirmed to the organizers that the concept would be continued in its second edition in 2026. The lifestyle press and Förde Fräulein described the Flensburger Sommer as "12 weeks of joie de vivre, music, and participatory moments.".
