f*land — FLINTA*-Hip-Hop Festival

FLINTA* Festival with a Clear Stance

The Hip-Hop scene in Germany — as in many countries — is historically male-dominated. f*land counters this with a festival that exclusively provides stage, spray areas, and workshop rooms for FLINTA* artists (Female, Lesbian, Intersex, Non-binary, Trans, and Agender individuals). The format is clearly political: not as a supplementary program to a "normal" Hip-Hop series, but as an independent event with its own distinct claim.

freiLand Potsdam as the Venue

The venue is freiLand Potsdam, the self-managed cultural area on Friedrich-Engels-Straße in Potsdam-West. The grounds — a former industrial wasteland, now home to numerous initiatives, housing projects, workshops, and stages — offer the spatial and atmospheric foundation for a festival that makes the FLINTA* Hip-Hop scene of Potsdam and Brandenburg visible. For years, freiLand has been one of the most important alternative cultural sites in Brandenburg.

Graffiti and Music

The festival combines two pillars of Hip-Hop: Graffiti / Spray Action (by FLINTA* spray artists on prepared walls on-site) and Live Concerts / DJ Sets by FLINTA* Hip-Hop artists. The format is complemented by workshops (Rap writing workshops, DJ workshops, learning to spray) — low-threshold introductory offers that also open the festival to beginners.

Funding and Organizer

The organizer is CULTUS UG. The festival is one of the projects supported by the 2026 festival funding of the state capital Potsdam — a funding program that specifically secures independent festival structures and enables a diverse cultural offering. Updates via freiland-potsdam.de and potsdam.de.

Brandenburg's Festival Diversity

Together with the DRØP Festival (Brandenburg an der Havel), Bergfest, and the Berlin Hip-Hop scene, f*land showcases the breadth of German-language Hip-Hop — and the growing visibility of FLINTA* voices within it. For Brandenburg's cultural landscape, the festival is an important differentiating factor.
