Filmnächte Cottbus in Spreeauenpark

In 2025, PAN GmbH continued its Filmnächte tradition in Cottbus. Four weeks of daily open-air cinema on a large screen, complemented by film music concerts with live orchestra and performances by regional bands. The atmosphere in Spreeauenpark — deck chairs, floodplain landscape, summer bar — has become a firm fixture in Cottbus's summer cultural calendar in recent years.

The parallel locations in Dresden, Leipzig, and Dortmund carry the format supra-regionally — the Cottbus Filmnächte are thus one of the largest open-air cinema brands in East Germany. The 2025 program mixed current blockbusters from summer cinema, curated arthouse films, and classics, complemented by film music concert evenings. Deck chairs, high-quality sound systems, and selected gastronomy made the festival the most relaxed open-air cultural event in the Lausitz region.
