Overview

The 35th FilmFestival Cottbus 2025 took place in November 2025 and showcased six days of East European cinema — feature films, short films, youth films, sections U18, Spectrum, Russkiy Den, and Heimat | Domownja. Festival Director Bernd Buder, organizer Pool Production. As always, one of the most important international film festivals for East European cinema.

The 35th FilmFestival Cottbus 2025 marked the 34th year of the film festival in the Lusatian capital — one of the most prestigious festivals for East European cinema worldwide. Over six festival days, up to 150 films were screened, distributed across three main competitions and several side sections.

As every year, the festival attracted directors, critics, producers, and film fans from Central and Eastern Europe to Cottbus. The accompanying connecting cottbus Co-Production Market brought together industry players for film projects from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, the Baltics, the Balkans, and the entire region.
