Overview
The 8th FigurentheaterWoche Gelsenkirchen 2024 continued the tradition of the festival, which takes place every two years. At the Consol Theater in the Bismarck district, selected ensembles presented productions for children, families, teenagers, and adults. The program demonstrated that figure theatre goes far beyond classic children's theatre and is an important genre of contemporary stage art.
The 8th edition of the FigurentheaterWoche took place in early 2024, as is traditional. At the Consol Theater, ensembles from Germany and abroad presented a wide range of modern figure theatre. The festival positioned itself as an important hub for the figure theatre scene between the Rhine and the Ruhr — the next regular edition will follow in 2026 as the 9th edition.
