Overview

As every year in August, the Zachenberg Volunteer Fire Brigade hosted its traditional summer festival in 2025. For two days, villagers, neighboring brigades, and guests gathered at the festival grounds to celebrate the summer days together. The format, with the festival opening on Saturday, live music, lunch, and a family program on Sunday, has shaped the festival for decades.

The FFW-Fest 2025 took place as usual on the last weekend of August. The active members of the brigade served guests with Bavarian delicacies, draft beer, and home-style cooking. The traditional beer tapping on Saturday evening marked the start of the festival, followed by dance music. Sunday was dedicated to the "Frühschoppen" (morning pint), lunch, and a cozy winding down.

As in many Bavarian Forest communities, the fire brigade festival in Zachenberg is also a commitment to volunteer work: the net proceeds support equipment, youth development, and the maintenance of the brigade.
