Overview
In 2025, the Fête de la Musique once again brought music to Gera's city center on June 21st. At around 20 venues, bands, solo artists, and ensembles performed free of charge. The market square, Johannisstraße, and small courtyards became open-air stages. Free admission, no obligation to purchase food or drinks — a tradition that musically shapes the city year in Gera.
The 2025 edition confirmed the Fête de la Musique's firm place in Gera's summer calendar. Bands of all styles, from jazz to rock to world music, presented their programs. The association Musik für Gera e.V. coordinated registrations and distributed the venues. The direct contact between musicians and the audience, the spontaneous encounters in the city center — this is what makes the Fête de la Musique a summer festival that should not be missing in any major Thuringian city.
