Overview

The 3rd edition of the Fête de la Musique Brandenburg an der Havel took place on June 21, 2025, at more than a dozen venues in the city center. Music could be heard from the station district deep into the old town – according to the organizer, "from classical, swing, and salsa to singer-songwriter, indie, rap, stoner rock, and reggae to house and techno." All concerts were free, with hat donations for the bands. After three years, the format has established itself as a fixture of the Havelsommer.

In the summer of 2025, the Fête de la Musique Brandenburg proved its maturity: the third edition ran smoothly, the audience was familiar with the concept, and the bands from Brandenburg, Potsdam, and Berlin delivered performances from early afternoon until late at night. The courtyards of the old town filled with acoustic guitar sounds, a choir program echoed in St. Catherine's Church, and the Brandenburg Theatre hosted a singer-songwriter slot.

Especially the younger venues – the Kunsthalle Brennabor with electronic sets and experimental music – showed that the format works for every generation. Music filled the city center late into the night, and on the longest day of the year, Brandenburg an der Havel became the undisputed liveliest place in West Brandenburg for a few hours.
