Overview

In 2025, St. Marien Prenzlau was dedicated to the final restoration work on the Hill Organ. The parish's church music continued with a reduced organ offering; numerous concerts and workshops prepared for the festive recommissioning in 2026. Benefit concerts and support programmes accompanied the restoration.

The year 2025 at St. Marien Prenzlau was a year of preparation. The restoration of the Hill Organ – an exceptional heritage of English organ building from 1904 – continued with great art-historical and conceptual care. Throughout the year, numerous concerts with other instruments took place in St. Marien Church, benefit concerts and special events by the parish raised funds for the restoration, and fundraising tours and lectures informed about the significance of the instrument. This long-term project culminates in the festive recommissioning with a unique festival week in May 2026 – the return to service of an organ of European standing in one of the most important Brick Gothic churches of the Uckermark.
