Overview

The 37th edition of the Festival Europäische Kirchenmusik 2025 once again spanned three summer weeks in Schwäbisch Gmünd. In 2025, top ensembles from Europe and overseas filled the churches of the Stauferstadt with classical church music, vocal polyphony, organ music, and crossover programs.

The 37th Festival Europäische Kirchenmusik 2025 reaffirmed the event's reputation as one of Europe's leading church music festivals. Around 40 concerts and services were held in the Heilig-Kreuz-Münster, the Augustinuskirche, the Johanniskirche, and smaller sacred buildings in the city center.

In 2025, the European Church Music Prize was also awarded; the program ranged from early music with historical instruments to contemporary works and jazz and crossover concerts. SWR again recorded several concerts for broadcast on SWR Kultur. Audiences came from all over Germany, with an increasing number from the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Austria, and Switzerland.

Prices

Prices ranged from €15 to €75 depending on the concert format. Festival passes and discounts were also offered in 2025.
