Overview

The "1516 – Fest zum Reinen Bier" 2025 celebrated the birthplace of the German Reinheitsgebot again with a historical market at Ingolstadt's Theaterplatz. Three days of brewery presentations, medieval music, costumes, a children's program, and catering in a Renaissance atmosphere made the festival one of Ingolstadt's most important cultural events in spring.

The 2025 edition continued the concept of the previous year: three days of festivities at Theaterplatz, breweries from all over Bavaria, a medieval market with costumes and stalls, live music with historical connections. The Cultural Office of the City of Ingolstadt has established the festival as a permanent fixture in the city's calendar – a commitment to its historical identity as the birthplace of the Reinheitsgebot.

Families, tourists, and beer connoisseurs from Ingolstadt and far beyond use the festival to sample beers, discover lesser-known Bavarian breweries, and immerse themselves in the Renaissance atmosphere.
