Overview

The Festival of the 1000 Dwarves 2025 took place at the end of September on the Jahnkampfbahn in Stadtpark. Around 1,000 school children from the greater Hamburg area competed in the classic athletics disciplines — sprints, runs, jumps, and throws. It was the season finale for Hamburg's school athletics, with a family-friendly atmosphere and a colorful supporting program.

The 2025 edition continued the long-standing tradition: a two-day competition festival that brings together Hamburg's young athletics talent. The Jahnkampfbahn in Stadtpark transformed into a stage for around 1,000 young athletes competing in the U10 to U16 age groups.

The organizer was, as every year, HSV-Leichtathletik. Hamburg clubs like HSV, LG Wedel-Pinneberg, and TSV Stellingen sent their junior athletes; the field was supplemented by registrations from schools and sports clubs from the surrounding Hamburg area. Families accompanied their children to the track, picnic blankets filled the lawn, and on Sunday afternoon, the award ceremonies were once again among the iconic scenes of Hamburg's summer sports.
