Overview

The Fest an der Fähre 2025 invited Strausberg residents and day-trippers from Berlin for a summer evening by the Straussee. Live music, street food, ferry rides with the historic electric ferry, and a children's program — a proven format without major surprises, but with reliable quality.

Strausberger Eisenbahn GmbH has organized the festival for years as a summer town event and promotion for the historic Strausseefähre — its brand and monument of technology. In 2025, around 3,000 visitors attended, the street food offerings were plentiful, and the live music appealed to the regular audience (German rock, tribute bands).

Those who are in Strausberg anyway combine the festival with a walk around the Straussee — the lake in the middle of the town is a scenic highlight. The historic Strausberg railway line is also used for special trips during some festivals.
