Overview
The 35th Feininger Children's and Youth Plein Air 2025 once again brought numerous school classes from the Weimarer Land district to Mellingen. During the day, painting took place at various locations, and in the evening, the traditional opening reception was held on the village green with musical and theatrical accompaniment.
The 35th edition continued the long-standing tradition: students from primary and secondary schools in Weimarer Land spent the day with brushes and ink by the historic church of Mellingen and in the village. The theater group of the Lyonel Feininger Gymnasium presented a play about Lyonel Feininger and his connection to Mellingen in the evening. The event once again confirmed its importance in the cultural education landscape of Thuringia.
