Overview

The Faust-Festspiele Pottenstein 2025 took place, as is traditional, from late June to mid-August at Schüttersmühle in Klumpertal. The repertoire included Goethe's Faust I, Der Pottensteiner Teufelspakt, and other plays from the festival family. The natural stage in the Franconian Switzerland once again attracted thousands of spectators to the open-air evenings.

The 2025 edition continued the established programme: four plays in alternating repertory on the open-air stage at Schüttersmühle, supplemented by the children's programme in the afternoon. The mix of Goethe's classic, Franconian legends, and comedy remains the hallmark of the Pottenstein festival.

An Established Summer Format

With each year, the festival team strengthens its roots in the Franconian Switzerland region. The closing party and the premiere celebrations in the beer garden are among the convivial highlights of the theatre season in Upper Franconia.
