Edition 2025 — Tonnenabschlagen Born
In 2025, Born a.Darß again invited to the traditional Tonnenabschlagen on the third Saturday of February – with a riders' procession, Tonnenabschlagen on the festival meadow, costume awards, and the Fastnachtstonnenball in the evening.
A Vibrant Traditional Custom
The Fastnachtstonnenabschlagen 2025 in Born a.Darß followed the proven format: assembly of riders in the morning, procession through the village, Tonnenabschlagen in the afternoon with disciplines on horseback and on foot, Children's Tonnenabschlagen, and costume awards. The festival day concluded, as usual, with the evening Fastnachtstonnenball at BornAqua.
The Tonnenabschlagen, along with the Born costume ball on the first weekend of February, forms the annual Born carnival season. For 2026, the Tourist Information Office will continue the format on February 21st.
