Overview

The 2024/2025 Coburg carnival season concluded, as always, with the six great days around Shrove Tuesday. The folk festival on the market square, the Gaudiwurm parade on Sunday with dozens of groups, grand sessions, a children's session, and Karneval Total marked the program. The Coburger Narrhalla and the Coburg Section of the German Showmen's Association jointly managed the program and continued the established festival structure from previous years.

Coburg Carnival 2025

In the 2024/2025 season, the Coburger Narrhalla once again adhered to its classic festival calendar: season start with the Town Hall Storming in November, Gala Evening at the Kongresshaus, Children's Session, Grand Sessions, and of course, the big Gaudiwurm parade on carnival Sunday through Coburg's city center. All accompanied by the folk festival on the market square with rides and stalls, organized by the Coburg Section of the German Showmen's Association.

Meeting Point of the Region

As every year, the Gaudiwurm attracted tens of thousands of spectators from Coburg, the Coburg region, southern Thuringia, and the wider area. The floats and walking groups were built and rehearsed over months, and the parade remains by far the largest carnival event in the region.
