The 17th edition of FANTAKEL took place from September 26 to 28, 2025, in Greifswald. The festival celebrated the birthday of Hans Christian Andersen with special exhibitions at the Koeppenhaus and St. Spiritus. Performances for children from age 3 up to the adult programme.

The 17th edition of the FANTAKEL Puppet Theatre Festival in 2025 was dedicated to Hans Christian Andersen – featuring special exhibitions at the Koeppenhaus Literature House and the Soziokulturelles Zentrum St. Spiritus. Over three days, fairytale-like productions for the youngest, several family performances, and adult productions were presented at four venues in Greifswald's city centre.

The popular participatory programme on Saturday afternoon in the courtyard of St. Spiritus once again brought children and adults together for playing, storytelling, and crafting. Productions by independent theatre groups from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern were featured.
