Overview
In 2025, the traditional Vigil with a torchlight hike from Hinterrehberg Chapel to the Marienweiher Pilgrimage Basilica also took place. The march through the evening Frankenwald, followed by a devotion in the Baroque Basilica, has been a fixed part of the Marienweiher pilgrimage programme on the eve of the High Feast of the Assumption of Mary for years.
2025 Season
As in previous years, the Marienweiher Pilgrimage Office organised the Vigil with a torchlight hike from Hinterrehberg Chapel to the Basilica in 2025. The schedule followed the proven pattern: shuttle to the chapel, torchlight march via Neuensorg and Marktleugast, devotion in the nocturnal Basilica. Thus, the 2025 Vigil remained a central event in the region's pilgrimage calendar and laid the foundation for its continuation in 2026.
