ExtraSchicht 2025 on June 28 once again confirmed what makes the festival format unique: in a single summer night, over 40 industrial heritage sites in the Ruhr region — gasometers, former mines, blast furnaces, canal structures, and redesigned industrial parks — open their doors for live programming.

BernePark Bottrop was one of the venues that staged a dense program of comedy, acrobatics, walk acts, and live music between its former wastewater treatment plant architecture and the walkable industrial sculptures. The machine building restaurant remained open for the ExtraSchicht night, and the Park Hotel in the sewer pipes provided a photogenic backdrop.
