Overview

The 2025 Harvest Festival took place, as is traditional, in September at the Museumsdorf Volksdorf. The proven program of harvest presentation, wood-fired bread, animals, and workshops attracted families from all over Hamburg to the Wandsbek district. Admission €7 for adults, free for those under 21.

The 2025 edition confirmed the festival's character: a concentrated farm Sunday in a city otherwise defined by its harbor and containers. Old varieties were presented in the garden, the bakehouse smelled of fresh bread, and the animals were a focal point for the children. The non-profit association "De Spieker," which has supported the open-air museum since 1965, again ensured its smooth running. Like the Advent market, the Harvest Festival is one of the fixed annual highlights of the museum year and conveys a different facet of Hamburg city life.
