Overview

The 45th Erlanger Poet*innenfest took place from August 29 to 31, 2025, under the motto Zwischen uns liegt August (Between Us Lies August). Due to budget constraints, the festival was one day shorter than usual and began on Friday. Over 80 female authors, publicists, and academics were guests, and the long reading afternoons were held as usual in the Palace Garden.

The 45th edition in 2025 was under the motto Zwischen uns liegt August (Between Us Lies August). Due to the city's tight budget, the festival was one day shorter and started on Friday, August 29. New works were presented by Kristine Bilkau, Ulrike Draesner, Daniela Dröscher, Ursula Krechel, Nadja Küchenmeister, Jonas Lüscher, Katerina Poladjan, and Jan Costin Wagner, among others. The major author portraits were dedicated to Saša Stanišić and Eva Menasse, while Raoul Schrott concluded the festival with his book project on the starry sky and humanity's creation myths.
