Overview

The 270th Erlanger Bergkirchweih ran for twelve days with the proven concept: 14 cellars, four breweries, a Volksfest under old trees on the Burgberg. One million visitors, the annual tapping on the first day, and the traditional "Berg-Begräbnis" (Mountain Funeral) on the closing day formed the framework.

The 270th edition in 2025 was entirely focused on preparations for the 2026 anniversary and the designation as intangible cultural heritage. Even in 2025, the Bergkirchweih recorded visitor numbers around one million people.

The four breweries shared the 14 cellars as usual, historic locations like Erich-Keller and Birkners Keller operated without interruption, and beer prices were just under €14. In summer weather, students from Erlangen, families, and guests from all over Middle Franconia enjoyed the unique atmosphere under the shady trees.
