Overview

The 174th edition of the Englmarisuchen in 2025 followed the classic sequence: 'Englmari-Singen' on Whit Friday, festive services on Whit Sunday, and the main spectacle on Whit Monday (June 9) with a historical procession, a mountain service at Kapellenberg, and an ox cart procession. Thousands of visitors travelled to the village decorated with birch branches and flags.

Whit Monday 2025 fell on June 9. As every year, the spectacle began at 8:00 AM with a concert at the church square, followed by the historical procession of riders, 'Pfingstltuscher', and folk dancers. Around 9:45 AM, the wooden figure of the blessed Engelmar was symbolically rediscovered at Kapellenberg; the subsequent mountain service with a blessing of livestock attracted several thousand worshippers.

The 2025 edition marked the first full festival since its inclusion in the Federal Register of Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 2023. It also served as a dress rehearsal for the 175th anniversary in 2026, for which the Förderervereinigung began preparations as early as the summer of 2025.
